If they can kill...then they can play!!

I cant believe I still hear that same ole lame ass debate pertaining to, if High School Basketball players should be able to enter the NBA .. last year the NCAA along with the NBA created this rule in which High School Basketball players must play with a University and or College for a minimum one year before entering the NBA..... In addition, many fans believe its ridiculous for these athletes to make this kind of money at such a young age...coming straight out of High School. Really dude??..is it the Black thing again?? Its just such a weird discussion...i mean, every week, it seems like Sports Talk shows are debating over this shit..
How come no one says anything when tennis pros like Andy Roddick, Pete Sampras or Boris Becker win major events at 16 years of age?? Or when Olympics stars ( ice skaters ... gymnasts) make millions off endorsements after they win gold or even weak-ass silver?? Those fuckers are so young!!

You think either side really gives a shit about the student athlete. The NCAA makes so much money off that kid all year long...television, endorsements..etc...he's basically a human cash machine for the school. How are you going to tell a kid straight out of the projects, that after practicing ten hours a day all year long since you they were 3 years of age ....winning the state championships in High School for like 4 years straight and breaking every record in their home town, that they still dont have enough credibility to turn pro. That they don't deserve a shot at playing with the best, because it's mandatory you play one year at a University....to um...ummm.....get you prepared for life?!

How come no one says shit ..or creates rules protecting the youth going into the military straight out of High School?? I guess its safer to dismantle mine-fields in Iraq, then it is to play for the Lakers at 18!!

A early morning round table discussion between sports writers and coaches i watched on TV inspired this posting!! I just think its such a joke.
